History

The Ezio Scida Stadium opened in 1946.

The stadium was opened after being built for 11 years.

The stadium's name is taken from former player Ezio Scida, who died during the team's run in 1946.

Until 1999, the Stadio Ezio Scida was a very simple structure that could accommodate no more than 5,000 people.

The rebuilding work that involved working all the stands around the turn of the millennium nearly doubled capacity to just under 10,000 seats.

Following Crotone's promotion to Serie A in 2016, the stadium was further expanded with temporary benches above the main stand and the Curva Sud.

Until then the stadium capacity increased to 16,547. (2)
